The hackathon will have a big open track and project-specific bounties with over £10,000 in prizes!

Please apply to attend via the eventbrite page: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/cambridge-hackathon-with-nervos-nucypher-fluence-arweave-tickets-73926214297

This 2-day hackathon brings together great international projects for you to hack on and explore. You will get the opportunity to connect with the teams and ecosystems as well as other developers over the course of the event.

You can apply to be a hacker using this form: https://forms.gle/5Bwvs9h1btKUeQir9

We will have a few mentors from each project on site to help out and answer any questions you may have. They will also be judging the project-specific bounties.

Short workshops from each project will be held to provide you with some essentials.

Food and drinks will be provided throughout the weekend.

A little about each project:

NuCypher: cryptographic infrastructure for privacy-preserving applications and protocols

Fluence: protocol that uses crypto-economic incentives to turn commodity hardware into a reliable, cost-efficient cloud computing platform

Arweave: a novel data storage blockchain protocol enabling a permanent serverless web and creating truly permanent data storage

Nym: full-stack privacy infrastructure that prevents data leakage and provides the best privacy possible

Requirements

Open Track

In order to be eligible for the open track, you need to at least utilize two of the 4 projects in a meaningful way.

Fluence Bounty

https://github.com/fluencelabs/Bounties/issues/3
Judging will be based on:

  • Benefit for Fluence/ Fluence ecosystem
  • Technicality (code, usage)
  • Originality (how unique is the idea, the novelty of the code)
  • Wow factor

Arweave Bounty: A decentralised social platform
  • The permaweb app must interact with Arweave using ArweaveJS and must be published on the permaweb using Arweave Deploy
  • It must be fully decentralized without the use of centralized plugins. There should be no need to use a centralized login approach while you have a fully decentralized approach directly with Arweave

Judging will be based on:

  • Design and User Experience: Is the app easy to use and pleasing to look at? Does the interface make sense?
  • Decentralized: Is the app fully decentralized and hosted on the permaweb using Arweave Deploy?
  • Use of Arweave tech:Does the app interact with Arweave using ArweaveJS?
  • Originality: Does the app solve a problem? Or fill a gap in the market? Or have a unique or new business model?
  • Retention: Does the app have lasting appeal? Will it retain users? Would you use it again?

NuCypher Bounty
  • The NuCypher network facilitates end-to-end encrypted data sharing for distributed apps and protocols. NuCypher is looking for the most interesting project built utilizing any NuCypher technology, including proxy re-encryption for managing permissions over encrypted data or nuFHE.
  • There is no specific task, just build something with us!

Judging will be based on:

  • Novelty of Use Case
  • Difficulty of Technical Implementation
  • Usefulness of the Submission
